What Happened?

Delia King fell ill rather quickly on December 24th, 2008 with what she originally thought was a migraine headache. With flu-like symptoms that rapidly worsened, she was rushed to the hospital later that evening. Doctors were puzzled at first, but then came the diagnosis: bacterial meningitis. The infection became a severe case of sepsis as her organs began to shut down and she was truly fighting for her life. Chances for survival were grim, and we were told that if she did pull through, she most likely would lose all four of her limbs.

Created to keep friends and family updated, this blog has chronicled her progress as she beat the odds of survival from this traumatic illness.
